A mediocrely armored, but capable cruiser with an air wing, missiles, powerful deck guns, and destructive anti-ar defense. My first spaceship! Enjoy! PS: Search:history:1846094

I'm pretty busy at the moment with my ongoing project, ADHD, so I can get it done in about 3 and a half years. XD
-
It also kind of implies a Star Trek-ish idea of diverting power from one system to enhance another, which may or may not appeal to you. If you want a system like that, I can build it for you but you'll have to wait a day or two. If not, no problem!
-
I might just use that on the damn ship i keep working on
-
If you can manage the electronics, you could even have a system that switches the shields on when a threat is apparent (use DTEC and temperature/pressure sensors), and off before firing your own weapons (link it to the same controls, and add a slight DLAY to stop guns from firing until the GPMP powers down). I've never seen this done, but it would work and shouldn't be too difficult to build.

Woo gotta add fireworks now too! XD
-
@Daeox + Technomancer I shall include that on my next ship. Thanks! 2K views! OMG!

Yeah, with the node system it would screw up aim. With an underlying layer of GPMP circling the ship, it would have a lesser effect. But then it would also become more vulnerable to PROT.
-
GPMP can deflect NEUT too, or indeed anything that isn't moving too fast (except ANAR, which isn't all that scary!). The reason I picked on PROT is that they're the only thing that cause a major issue if they DO get through (eg if accelerated or spawned very close to the GPMP), since they will alter its gravity to attract instead of repel.
-
Something to watch out for, though, is that if the ship uses any weapons other than ARAY (FRAY launchers, CRAY, 'proper' lasers etc), GPMP will screw with their aim and make it unsafe to fit certain things too close to it (any internal beam weapons or SNOW (SING) storage, for instance). It's not that hard to work around it, but you do need to plan for it.
-
Also GPMP will actually deflect PROT with it's gravity, but not NEUT.
