Mostly correct. The smallest ship useful in the coming engagment is the Resonance-Class, most other ships will be useless. Their only value would be defending Resonance Dreadnoughts.

In the battle against the Spinner, even the Collapse class would be effective in those numbers, but I don't see how smaller craft would help. They'll probably just defend the bigger ships and destroy the enemy escorts, but it doesn't seem necessary, as the main craft armor can't get scratched by smaller ships in moderate amounts, and any ship concentration large enough to slightly disturb them would be targetable and the millions of craft would be simply wiped out.

The issue was with the forcefield shattering the pipe, letting lava out.
