The Longinus is a 22 m l/12 electromagnetic mass driver, firing projectiles at 90 km/s. Projectiles utilize basic shield technology avoid atmosphereic friction. Only one of these cannons survived the Imperium's fall, and is now an icon of their military.

    @steder, I'd say pretty darn big. A crane with a large counterweight is being used to load shells.

    Then how much electricity it needs?Wont there be lighting arcs comming out of it because of the inmense positive electron in the firing mechanisim

    Mabye the cannon has empty space around it. then recoil would not be a problem

    Alright, so, since the weapon is firing upwards, and considering the position of the gun itself, it would PROBABLY be fine. Probably. At the very most it would ram itself into the ground, but it could probably survive that.

    This is a Railcannon. It uses magnetic feilds to accelerate the projectiles.

    Since the ammo are not missles they must be pushed by another force
