Alcubierre drive produces a warp bubble in spacetime meaning the quantum foam has moved out of the way meaning the laws of physics no longer apply in that area where the spacecraft is meaning you can travel faster than light bending spacetime around you. A warp bubble is only about 1000 planck lengths thick.

vanbeckumchris 10th Jul 2014@Quicksilver34 Protons are really good at heat transfer, what you are seeing is the protons taking the heat from the photons in the ring, they then transfer that temperature to the GPMP, changing the gravity effect. This same heat transfer can also start fires.
