    Well, @Sammymanny: They put the liquid into the bottle, and generally would throw it just by hand. If a long shot was needed, or just because they felt like it, they could have used some sort of sling device. The sling method was uncommon, but basically what Greek Fire was, and what makes it still extremely deadly, is a more effective Molitov.
