  Their fleet is centered around a previously hidden 1.89 Billion kilometer long flagship. This vessel is projecting a Control field. In addition to this, none of the surveyed craft appear to have a power source.

  i didn't mean a galactic invasion, if that was implied, but rather try to claim ownership of a part of the galaxy by possibly destroying any ship in that area.

  Galactic invasion fleets have been known to head towards something nearby to a galaxy and then switch course and head for their main target. Although a galactic invasion seems very unlikely, they don't have the ships or the reason to gain much from one. They will either be going for a smaller more exposed target, or trying to start a base.

  Any guesses on their intentions? I find that they are most likely hostile as who would have that many ships in an expeditionary fleet? Unless they are thinking of colonizing or going to some sort of land grab. Could be refugees.

  Their larger craft are concealed by massive Gravity Lenses. As they approach, we will be able to see through this distortion.
