true but you could just use the default portal to do it. you might do less damage but the protons will pass through the ship and reflect off of the insulation in the armor and cause some damage. -

A more practical idea would be to use them with portals, so most anti-proton protection is bypassed, and they will appear in a system that could easily be damaged by protons (eg: deut engines, lasers, sorting systems). But, a problem with this one is that you need a large area dedicated to transmitting protons on all portal channels. -

If the protons are accellerated, they can get through thing layers of insulation -

vanbeckumchris 28th Apr 2014I thought of an interesting concept, a device that uses cold protons to disable ships. The protons would pass through the ship, changing wifi channels, delay times, and array temperatures, making the electronics completely useless.
