    The one with the 3 moon phases is the best one. We should have an Alliance flag and/or alliance colours. Anyone have ideas for that?

    I built a prototype and tested it on the Alliance ship with the most complex electronics I could find. It's fairly effective at preventing some of the weapons from firing, and many of the array weapons have had their temp set so low that they wouldn't do damage anymore. I saved the test results id:1525365

    But wouldn't the protons change the portal channels too?

    true but you could just use the default portal to do it. you might do less damage but the protons will pass through the ship and reflect off of the insulation in the armor and cause some damage.

    A more practical idea would be to use them with portals, so most anti-proton protection is bypassed, and they will appear in a system that could easily be damaged by protons (eg: deut engines, lasers, sorting systems). But, a problem with this one is that you need a large area dedicated to transmitting protons on all portal channels.

    If the protons are accellerated, they can get through thing layers of insulation

    The main promlem with this is insulated armour and gravity, but other than that it would be quite easy to make.
