  We could make a multistage, hybrid engine, a Deut engine, the heat and pressure of which could power a fusion engine while still providing thrust, and then we could burn a reaction mass like C-5 to produce even more.

  i think we should stick with a simple, tried and tested engine model. new ideas tend to work at first, but encounter unforseen problems later. id rather not have our flagship be stranded because its engines broke down. i also think we should have auxillary engines, to help if primariy engines are destroyed

  I did that, It worked, but it just seemed like free coolant. The pipe (tmp130) tests look promosing though.

  You could use dead life to make an ignition for the C-5 that would also cool the lava.

  Lava ctype C-5 testing didn't work as well as expected because the reaction isn't cold enough to start a chain reaction. Pipe ctype C-5 might work better though.

  I've been doing experiments involving using a neutron laser to move C-5 through a tube, I've had some promising results, but the flow rate is too slow.

  Lava ctype C-5, Exot in cloning mode, pistons, neutrons are all possible ways of moving C-5 around.
