    if you like lore then YES! it's like the backstory of everything in the world of mortal engines! (well, almost) it does have drawings by phillip reeve of some of the things mentioned so if you like the way you imagined a spice freighter i suggest you get the audiobook.... :P

    i won't. i aim to make every city, town and suburb mentioned in the books. (including the traction codex). @jmpuchito you would actually be fine... south america was detatched from north america (the dead continent) to become what is known as Nuevo Maya. you would be a semi-barbarian, but you would not be dead.

    sorry but no, in the world this is based on, everybody in america was killed during the 60 minute war. no cities were built there, nobody lives there. it's not called the dead continent for nothing.
