It will be very slow. If we have 10 layers, it's just like we opened 10 TPT, you can try. Nobody in the forum can open 10 TPT at once without lagging yet. But anyway this is nice art +1

whats so good about "3D" though? i hope nobody gets offended but......we humans like and hate things cuz their different......i see no real "purpose" of 3D so people must like it because it 'sounds' cool......the hate side is well......ya know but yeah...point is, there's nothing better about 3D

@sethhope we could just get your prototype and modify it a bit, then we would have a model to base off of.

@jman31415 Actually, it wouldn't be too hard... I am a game developer who has looked into this kind of project. I had an early working prototype that worked on an old intel pentium 2. It was a 800X600 grid with 3 layers. The particles were able to flow freely between layers as well as the layers were editable by the user. I did run into some problems with the actual physics, but they were easily overcome. The fact that the particles are cubes actually allows for simple and fast collision boxes. That makes the game able to run smoothly and do alot of collision calculations per second.

This is a good idea, but from both a coding standpoint and a building (in-game) standpoint, it would add waaay to much complexity to be able to run as realisticly or smoothly as it does now. Plus, simple things like creating a building out of different materials would become an extremely complicated task, due to how each individual layer would have to be placed to create the entire structure. Reactors, landscapes, weapons, would all become near-impossible to even make, let alone simulate.

it would be way to complicated and what abought the people with verry slow computers, they wont be able to plat tpt anemore because it would crash every time they ofen a large save or have a lot going at once.
