    The current global nuclear stockpile is something like 20 billion tonnes TNT-equivalent. That sounds like a lot, but remember that hurricane Katrina released about that much energy in a day.

    @fftk4323: no, what killed the dinosaurs was 33,000 years of horrible climate due to something equivalent to literally 2 million Tsar Bombas... Hurricanes with 500 mph winds, Megatsunamis the size of buildings reaching across oceans, Out-of-whack volcanism, nuclear winter, and the Deccan traps beforehand.
