    yes,the ice melts into qrtz. the ice also cools down everything poured on to it before turning into qrtz.this combined with the superfast cooling of INWR makes a great cooling system.also, if the inwr melts and the insl beneth it catches fire, the molten insl touches the ice which turns it back to inwr which starts cooling instantly.
