    @thebuilder as someone who has made thermite before, the more traditional oxide to use is Fe2O3.

    Konlo, I hate too spoil your fun, but iron rust isn't the same is iron oxide, iron oxide is FEO2: Ie 1 iron 2 oxide. The stuff on a car is nowwhere near pure enough.

    I just need to scrape that rust off of my car, put it in with some aluminum powder, and i have thermite. Time to burn big holes in stuff.

    @javster it cant but underwater unless barium nitrate has beed added and the powders are very fine this mixture is what is used in military grade thermal grenades.
