My first laser. I've been fine-tuning it on and off for a day, and now it's protected against most reasonable threats like molten metal or reflected photons, doesn't malfunction as far as I see, and melts almost anything I put in front of it.

I usually use pump as an insulator because its indestructuble exept for dest and bomb

@LogicAndAspiration I put a straight line of diamond a few pixels from the end (about 20)

Hello everyone. I've updated it. I replaced the diamond with insulation, so now it's entirely immune to having it's laser directed back at it. I'll experiment with how many 2x2 dead life squares it needs now, if any, to protect itself. Thank you for highlighting this issue.

Think about this, on your very first save on TPT EVER, was it THIS good?

If the laser breaks, PLEASE do tell me the details of how you got it to do so, because I cannot replicate it doing so in any reasonable scenario. By the way burning97, the reason yours burns coal and mine doesn't has nothing to do with if yours is better or not. Yours fires electrons, photons, and neutrons in short bursts, the latter of which is able to light coal. Photons and electrons are incapable of lighting coal under any circumstance. My laser is designed to be a compact, easy to understand and modify, consistent photon-only laser. Our lasers are different kinds and serve different purposes, so they can't really be compared.

Burning97, I tried reflecting the photons back and it didn't. If you told me how you reflected it back, for instance what material you used, then I'd be able to make tweaks and fix the problem. Also, I'll check out your laser. Thanks for the input.

burning97, none of your lasers can destroy coal, they can destroy wood, but not coal.
