Anyway, as I've stated, there's balls load of groups and it's getting annoying, some of them are just plain... stupid. I mean half of them are crappy copies of other groups that are renamed. I seriously think an application process that would be reviewed by Mods and trusted members would definitely help cut down on the number of extraneous groups that are crowding the forums... we could implement a simple group page concept with an embedded thread, a news page, and an info page. With the existing infrastructure it couldn't be hard, it would be a weekend project. The application would include the group name, and a description. All users would be able to view a page where the pending groups and their group counts are listed, and privileged users will be able to vote whether a group should exist or not. If it's rejected, it's added to a list in the wiki so that people creating groups can see what probably won't make it(they MAY use it...). Anyway, feedback appreciated, the clutter(there's like 6 of these group threads on the front page right now) is ridiculous... I hope this gets implemented.

EDIT: I'm going to sleep :P, I'll check on this tomorrow morning.
Sure. Write a javascript plugin that allows for the creation of Facebook-like groups to do things such as chat, post creations, and put it on the site. Problem?
Neospector That's not easily happening, PHP is needed for MySQL/database interaction. Of course, like I said, this isn't a complicated project, so long as we use the existing infrastructure.
Well, I wonder if the forum section could be locked so only authorized people can create a group thread. If this were true, that might not be that bad of an idea. (It would prevent the spamming of groups)
@Racer-Delux But then people would complain about not being able to create groups. Either that, or we actually have proper groups, not just threads on the forum.
