3D powder toy vs 2D powder toy

i would like to see a new version of powder toy that is 3D.

Has anyone used google sketchup (any version)? i would like a 3D powder toy that works like that, so then we can make 3D houses (instead of 2D), etc. we can rotate them on each axis, set fire to the inside of a house, etc.

one problem: it would not work with 2D saves (unless it can be programmed to accept them).
my solution to the problem: make a seperate 3D version available with the 2D version in one download. that way, you get two programs instead of one: a 3D powder toy for only 3D saves, and a 2D powdertoy for only 2D saves.

    that would be great!!!

PS: if you haven't ever used google sketchup, then you can download it for free from the google website (not a trial or demo): http://sketchup.google.com/download/gsu.html

Powder Toy in 2D is really CPU-intensive. 3D would slow to a crawl.

There's nothing wrong with this, but I'm afraid no matter which way you applied this, the game would run so slowly that it would be impossible for anyone to play. This has been dismissed more than once before, not going to happen in the next ten years or so, probably.
