FPS capped at 15 (Mac)

So, I saw my friend playing Powder Toy and I decided I wanted to try to play it too, so I got the game and tried to play. It worked fine, or at least I thought it did, but then I saw that my friend could run it at 60 fps, while I was locked at 15. It really ruins the gameplay and makes it hard to do anything. I'm running on a 5k Mac with a 3.3 GHz Intel Core i5 processor. There is no reason for my game to be running at this low of a frame rate. As a complete noob to this game, I honestly have no idea how to do much of anything, but even when the screen is blank, I'm locked at 15 fps. I tried increasing the max FPS in the config, but it was already at 10000, and trying to make it any higher crashed my game when it first started. Someone, anyone, please help!

What version of the game have you downloaded? You can see this number in the top right when you start the game.

What setting in the config are you changing?

I'm using Version 91.3, and I was changing the maxfps in powder.pref. The top one, anyways. After deleting the config file, it worked again, but my FPS is still locked at 15.

Do you have something in autorun.lua? It might be doing something incorrectly, and setting the max fps to 15. Delete it if you don't need it.

You can also go into the console and type tpt.setfpscap(60) for the normal limit or tpt.setfpscap(2) for unlimited.

Also, powder.pref has no max fps setting. So i'm not sure what you were changing ...

I don't even have an autorun.lua, and using that console command did nothing. I'm so confused.

Well your problem doesn't make any sense to me then ....

    Maybe try this version? http://starcatcher.us/TPT/

There isn't anything specific to your problem in it, but it is using a better compiler.

Powder Snapshot instantly crashes. I now know what I think the problem is. I'm running a beta version of MacOS. (Sierra) This may be the cause, but I'm not sure. Either way, problem persists.

New versions of OS X tend to break the game every new update, which is annoying :|

Do you get a crash report, that would be extremely useful. Especially if i'm going to release something like that as a new update soon.

I'm no genius at reading these things, but it seems there is a problem with an image (disk image?) not being found and a library being missing or something. MacOS Sierra hasn't been officially released yet, though, which is probably why I'm one of the only people having this problem. You might not even have to fix anything. It might get fixed when Apple updates the beta. Anyways, do what you can.

The original game (not the snapshot) doesn't crash, but is still locked at 15 FPS.

I see, thanks. I know exactly what the problem is (it is that SDL is missing). SDL isn't supposed to be missing, hmm ...
