Where is powder toy located?

a lot of people have been asking how to install mods, and people always answer with "press the download dumby" but i want to know what files to put where, please help.

You can put it wherever you want. Since all of these mods are standalone .exe files you just put them wherever and run them. For me I keem them all in separate folders, so I navigate to mods/feynman/ to find feynmanlogomaker's mod. Or you could just keep them all on your desktop.

Anyhow, if they're executable mods, you can do like jacob1 said, or you can keep them all in one folder like me - that way you can keep all your Lua scripts in one place, at the cost of a bit of disorganization.
On the topic of Lua scripts, if that's the kind of mod you're referring to, I advise you use Xrgqre64's script manager, and once you're using that, just create a folder called Scripts in the same directory as your powder toy executable, and dump your Lua mods there.

so powdertoy was never really installed anywhere? it is just where ever you put it?

Yes. As such, you can technically install it (press i when using it), so that files made in TPT automatically open with TPT, but once you've downloaded it, you can put it wherever you want.
