    I was disappointed, long ago, when I first tested this. Yes, it's ETRD. No, it's not "fake." This looks beautiful. The point is old-timey electronics, not weapons applications.

    @nomsyloly: it's not a laser, it's ETRD, it creates a stream of plasma between two ETRD particles, so the only way to stop it is by erasing one of the ETRDs

    I don't know where some of these commenters have their heads stuck...but it seems to have a bad effect on their brains. This is an elegant device.
