    Eclipse facts: This is an annular (NOT "annual") solar eclipse. That means the moon isn't close enough, and sits entirely within the bounds of the sun but doesn't fully cover it. Feels like a scam, solar eclipses are so rare and even if the moon passes directly over the sun it can still be too far away by chance.
