This one is about the Nedelin Rocket Explosion, happened on Oct.24th.1960. in the USSR. Safety procedures where ignored as they rushed to launch in time, so that a short circuit was able to blow the rocket up in a fireball.

I disagree TheNik, it was not the fault of the people, it was the fault of the officer who ordered them to work on a live-rocket. It's hard to refuse to obey to a superior.

There is a reason why they build bunkers at launch sites, and actually everyone hides in them hours before launch. And the people who do not hide - well, let's call this survival of the fittest. A bit harsh, but this is the fault of those people.

It was a military ICBM, ShadowThief and the reason why that happened was that they wanted to launch on a certain day. That's why they didn't remove the fuel before replacing the broken electrics.

Was this military? (soz for bad spelling!) Because I would expect them to be better than a mistake like that tbh

Hard to explain BadPunzLord, the difference between the USS-Thresher accident and the other saves is, that i have something like a personal relationship to submariners. I long time struggeled to do the Thresher.
