Wiki Editing Policy

In order to facilitate the process of finding useful information, we have some guidelines for everyone to follow while editing, creating, or discussing wiki entries. Violating these policies could result in a reversion of the edited content or deletion of created pages.

1. The information must be relatable to the page's general topic. Do not add in information regarding real life properties that do not happen in the game itself. The page should have a detailed overview of the applications, thermal and conductivity properties, and other special quarks added during development.

2. Refrain from using inappropriate or otherwise offensive wording. This includes implied methods through sentence structure or word substantiation. Even censoring out the words will be seen as intent to vandalize the wiki.

3. Linking to external sites is prohibited, except in cases of backing the page's main focus for understandability (GOL, Wireworld, etc). The intent of this rule is to prevent third-party advertising of sites not related to The Powder Toy.

4. Pages on The Powder Toy projects/saves are allowed, but must be kept above a threshold of page content. This means simply repeating the description is NOT enough to warrant its own page. However, if the page will contain detailed instruction on the operation or history of the save, that is allowed.

5. Vandalism includes rules one through three. This also includes, but limited to deletion of pages without permission, switching images out with your own for purposes of advertising or destruction, large amounts of edits that continuously do not contain relatable content or grammatical structure, and other malicious intent to impede the ability to edit, create, or find useful and related content on the wiki.

6. Each edit must have a complimentary summary and description. Simply saying it was a "added stuff" or "edited temperature" is not enough. The revision description should be more specific such as "Added information about thermal properties" or "Revised the section on useful applications by ...".
