Creation

With brush. Thermite is also created from a reaction between broken metal (BRMT.png) and broken electronics (BREL.png), which occurs in temperatures above 250°C (523.15°K).

Description, Reactions, Properties

Thermite is a metallic pyrotechnic mixture, that in real life, can undergo a vigorous oxidization to produce vast amounts of heat in an exothermic reaction. In TPT, it appears to have a light rosy brown colour when spawned, and it's metallic properties mean is is one of the denser powders in the game, so it sinks through most liquids and even through some powders. Thermite's best utilization is the store of chemical potential energy to heat energy, and can be found as a common component to pyrotechnics such as bombs and other destructive creations. It's intense heat output makes it a good fuel for reactor type saves and other similar mechanisms.

Typical thermite contains a composite mixture of iron oxide and aluminium. In Powder Toy, thermite can be generated by the means of mixing BRMT and BREL at tempurates >250°C (523.15°K).

THRM can be ignited by being in contact with FIRE.png, PLSM.png or LAVA.png. It is not ignited by heat or pressure, so it is quite a stable element. When ignited, THRM will burn generating the same volume of molten THRM at 2000°C and around 10 pressure in an open environment. If it is allowed to cool, the molten mixture will solidify at around 690°C, into BMTL.

Uses

Thermite creates a high amount of temperature when ignited. This can be used in heaters, and heat-based explosives.
