The current system is just so bad and broken that I don't know if I even want to fix it. We did fix a few of the most major problems (the group limit is 6 now I think, plus the 7th group that you can own yourself; you can cancel registrations; a few small ui fixes), but major problems like the inability to find groups unless they are advertised on the forums, inability to see who / what is in a group (is it active or not), and also the ugly ui are still present.

What you did is necro. (To mods/devs I am not trying to be a backseat moderator, but telling a new user what he did was doing considered necroing.) Necroing is when you post on a old thread. The group system is dead, the last active group is TUG and it's been inactive for three months. Other than that jacob1 plans on deleting groups, I hope he finds something to replace them with.

That isn't a necro because this thread was recently posted on (in a legitimate way) by someone asking to join. The message "hi" does break the rules though (probably the spam one) because of how unnecessary it is, it's just one word.
Also, that was backseat moderating. It's best to stay out of anything you think a mod should respond to. But often I'll just choose to not reply anyway (and just hide the post). If you have to say "this isn't backseat moderation, but ..." then yes, it's probably backseat moderation and you should reconsider posting.Edited once by jacob1. Last: 15th Oct 2018 -
I just wanted to let him know it can be considered necroing, but yeah I can see how that comes off as backseat moderating. Just don't want this to become a recurring thing for him, maybe I should reconsider posting. I usually ask you before posting something, looks like it's time to go back to doing that. Anyway good night.
