The new elements are: BANG, PYRO, and some more I think but I haven't looked at what they do yet. EDIT: Bang seems to create a large explosion I think.

Bang and Pyro aren't even elements in TPT++. They don't appear anywhere in the menu. So what are you thinking of?

BANG = TNT (the TNT update function is update_BANG)

update_PYRO is called by several element update functions to help set things on fire (SPRK, PHOT, NEUT, LIGH), and it's used directly as the element update function for FIRE, PLSM, LAVA.

I'm just going by Minishooz's comment. I thought there were truly new elements in the starting version of TPT++ based on his comment.
