There is currently a limit of 5000 characters per script file.

Well that should be unlimited characters. With unlimited characters in a script file, it would be possible to literally create full pictures (like the ones I've seen some people make for their TPT scenes) that look just like a dithered graphic, but are actually a runable TPT scene (usually fall apart or blow up though when run). If I had unlimited character space I'd be able to run the script needed to render a full image.
Sadly that currently is impossible, and being able to do that "full image" trick is still out of reach for me, sadly :( .

Python version? Won't I have to install Python on my computer to make it run then? Or just Python redistributables/runtimes? Or what?

First of all, how would you not have Python? Second, it's not hard to install Python. Third, must you worry?

I don't have Python. I have no need for it in my daily life.

Fine, maybe the first point isn't true for some people, but the rest work.
