TPT kept updating and wouldn't stop.

I saw that a new beta was availible. So I decided to install it. Nothing happened and it kept asking me to update after relaunching the game. At one point it gave me an error to tell me to get it here. Any idea why this happens?

What OS? After the update does the intro text have a big red line saying it is a beta?

Windows 10. Didn't update at all. It just gave an error and added _update to my tpt file's name and made it administrator only.

Delete Powder.exe and rename _update file to Powder.exe. Requiring administrator is an annoying windows "feature" for files containing _update

Sounds like it couldn't restart the game for whatever reason.

I don't have Powder.exe, it got rid of itself, I only have the Powder_update_update_update_update.exe file (yes I was dumb enough to repeat it several times). I'll delete the "_update" parts then.

Edit: I need """""Permission"""""" to rename it -_-

    Edit2...:

    Wait what:
The file D:\games\powder toy\Powder_update_update.exe is infected with Gen:Variant.Adware.Symmi.42737.The virus has been successfully blocked and your PC is now safe.
Either bitdefender is retarded again. Or something's actually wrong.

    Try scanning it through virustotal

What version number is it when it starts? 93.0.337?
The fact that it keeps adding _update is helpful. Anyway, if you don't have access to rename the file, that might explain why TPT doesn't either.

Again. Tpt doesn't start up. It starts up as if i didn't even click on the button. It's basically 92.5 I believe.

I didn't see you mention that. So, it just does nothing when you double click it? Or does it give a tpt bluescreen?

Have you tried downloading the beta from the homepage?

I just tested and couldn't reproduce this. Yesterday I did an update on Linux, today I tried it on Windows 10. I also tried it from the D drive and in a directory with a space, seemed to work fine and update properly each time.

I did just make a change which will appear in 93.1 to change the temporary update filename. Right now it adds _update to the exe name, which windows thinks requires administrator access and forces you to give it that, even though tpt doesn't need that. In future updates past 93.1, it will use _upd instead.
