Does POLO need pressure/heat for NEUT?

I'm trying to make a ignitor for a DEUT/HYGN fusion rocket engine without using CRAY or PCLN. Does polonium react to pressure or heat like plutonium or uranium to decay into neutrons, also what can neutrons pass through, I know they can pass through ice and ceramic but is there anything else?

No, POLO emits neutrons at any point, until it is grey.

Neutrons pass through a lot of things, such as

    • Glass
    • Water
    • Gold

In terms of radioactive elements, NEUT passes through POLO, DEUT, PLUT, but not URAN.

Using Polonium as a NEUT source is tricky.

One way you can do it is by creating small containers of ceramic, which will stay cold enough for the Polonium to not melt.

However, you need to cool it still.

In my mod, it was not until contact with ELEC or POL2 that continue emits neutrons.
