    Are you using blob display? I just looked, and 1px in blob display does look like a 3x3 square with slightly less visable corners.

    Yes, using layering metod allows you to combine abilities of materials. For example: C4 + THRM + BCOL + TNT give you some kind of napalm. QRTZ + Titanium + CRMC give you very hard material. Remember, don't use too many layers. It can fall into black hole, beacouse too much mass.
