It was removed forever ago. It required ugly changes to the source that made it hard to work with, and it was so buggy that it was pretty useless too.

Theoretically BALL is also useless :P
But I understand what are you talking about. Although making DEST a moving solid was cool :P

I just tried the mod the first time and I think its great :) I was working on my first script and couldn't find out how to adjust temperature settings for the temperature view. With this mod it is easy to adjust the temperature display.

I haven't even tried most of the other features yet :)

    Thx jacob1!

    Thanks :)
It's a nice feature, sometimes the default scale isn't the best to show temperatures. There are lots of other cool things too.

    Version 35.0 Released!

    Version 35.0 10/3/16
Redo render modes interface to more closely match tpt and be easier to use. It is also able to run while the simulation is running. The profile viewer now looks better on profiles that require scrolling. Fix exiting the deco menu sometimes changing which tools you had selected (or crashing?). Updates from tpt++. Installing (ctrl+i) on Linux now leaves a desktop entry for Jacob1's Mod. Ensure powder.pref is updated when changing settings and HUD presets.

Meant to release this yesterday but totally forgot. It is primarily work I did to update the android version, which is why I redid the render modes interface. The old render modes interface sucked anyway. Just a note, it is intentional that you can still simulate and do other things while in the render modes interface. I think it's kind of cool that it doesn't block the simulation. If you notice any strange bugs caused by this though, please report them. In the future I might make other interfaces not block.

Download Version 35.0 for Mac OS X 10.6+
Download Version 35.0 for 64 bit linux.
Download Version 35.0 for 32 bit linux.

Please, oh please return to the previous render UI! The new one (and TPT one) is really ugly and harder to use. I'm probably going to be reverting to the previous version for now.

Oh, and the new render UI doesn't save changes when exiting TPT.

    Um, really? You mean this?
    image

For one it's super tiny. A lot of the interface mysteriously would disappear every time you clicked it. It covered up some of the screen. Also, there were no long descriptions of what anything did.

The new one looks similar to tpt++, and also similar to the other new interfaces I have been making. I think the checkbox portion looks slightly better than tpt++, and I much prefer having all the icons on the bottom.

Do you have any suggestions for how to make it look better (including tiny things like changing button sizes). I really don't want the interface to cover up the actual screen like the old one did.

    New interface for comparison:

Edit: The render modes are saved to powder.pref just fine for me. If it won't save try going into simulation options and back out, it will force a save. I will force a save on exiting the render modes ui too I guess ... it seems to be a semi-common problem I just can't reproduce at all.

Honestly, I think that people won't be running a simulation and changing the rendering settings at the same time. Most people pause to do that. Maybe make both menus optional in the settings? Also, the sim pauses when the new menu is open too, same as the old one.

Well that's barely a complaint, it probably won't matter to many people that technically the render modes interface runs alongside the rest of the interface. I just thought it was cool - I spent a lot of work on so mentioned it in my post / the readme. I will need the "subwindows" feature for several other interfaces, I actually am using it in the profile viewer too to fix issues with extremely long profiles.

Can you give suggestions for how to improve the way it looks? Do you not like how it takes up the bottom bar? Did you like the tiny box better?

I liked the smaller, less obtrusive box a lot more. I mainly don't like how cramped it looks on the bottom, kind of like it was squished in there.

Also, could you add a new render preset called "Glow Render" or something like that? It would only have particle effects and glow effects on.
