It doesn't look like it needs anything past that point, you can just copy and paste it anywhere. Most of the functions in this are like that, except for a few lines that can be deleted without affecting what is does, like the gol variables in the create_line function. You can still change or copy things from the do not change section if you know what you are doing. If you want to use something in your own script, just type -- By Jacob1

You don't install it, just click the download button in the link I posted, and put autorun.lua in your powder toy folder. It will automatically start each time.

Edit: Apparently no one cares, or just haven't posted. I'm not going to do any more work on this, maybe other lua scripts sometime.

I decided to update this a while ago for some reason (even though my mod does all of this). I haven't worked on it in a while though, so until I keep working on it, I decided to just release what i've done so far.
    Download Version 3.0 here

    Changes:
The elements now have their correct colors and descriptions.
It now has it's own menu with it's own icon that a made before even the first version of this was released.
Support for up to the latest version (don't try in my mod though, you won't be able to use Walls)
Reorganized the functions around so they are easier to get to and find. Also, cleanup some unneed things.
Improved number/text boxes a little, and give them their own function.
Probably some other fixes and speed improvements

    Removed, with plans to re-add:
Moving solids: They crashed when I drew one, and I wanted to re-do them better (maybe how my mod does it, but that might be too laggy for a lua script)
Including lua code in saves: Will re-do how my mod does it

    Removed:
Support for versions below 68.7 (I think that one). It used to support all the way down to 49.1 (probably slightly later though), the version when the console was first added and I started this. It took a lot of work to keep support for versions that low, since there were many glitches I had to deal with in the first versions. In 68.7 which was after I discontinued this, things were added that gave me the ability to make this much better, so I did now.

    Planned:
    Fix GOL drawing glitches
Remove green cursor and get a function into official that will allow me to set the selected element
    Re-add removed things
Add another menu that does something...
    Fix bugs
    Maybe edit first post
    Probably more

    Bugs:
This makes tpt.get_name() return "jacob1" all the time, you should remove the function at the beginning that does that.
Because of that, you can use the reset button and maybe the fake second debug hud if I haven't removed it yet. Don't use the reset button, it may corrupt your statistics.
GOL doesn't have colors or descriptions
It sometimes doesn't coreectly get which GOL element you drew

    Credit to:
paint design and code by gamax92, but modified a lot by me
flood fill by mniip, but modified by me

If I missed any changes or bugs, please tell me.

The latest version is here, but you probably don't want it anyway. The latest version of tpt broke a lot of scripts, including this one. It doesn't even work anymore, until I can fix all the lua bugs created in the update.

If you want all the features this has, download my mod
