Why is INSL flammable?

    The whole purpose of it is that it doesn't conduct heat, so it can be used to shield things from temperature changes. But if that's the case, why the hell does it catch fire? Doesn't that defeat the whole purpose of it?

    Because ordinary insulation isn't fireproof.

    And it can't be lit by heat. Insulation isn't meant to stop fires only heat. And doesn't it conduct the heat of the fire.
