    It's operated by an AI that has access to incredible computational capacity. Yes, there is room for error. This can be corrected and there are safeguards in place. This ship is immense because the computer is massive and needs equally ridiculous support systems. As for the manipulation, it's far beyond what we can do. I'd point you to Greg Bear's book "Blood Music." One concept from it is that observing reality can alter it. Perhaps the computer here has similar effects.

    and even if it is explained, im still not too happy. if there is so much as a glitch, someone does a bit of wrong maths or the wrong plug is pulled or anything else then this ship and everything near it is screwed. maybe it wont fail instantly, but the very nature of this ship means that it can never be brought offline to fix or update software or the whole thing destroys itself.

    i mean i would like to know exactly how having a big ass computer allows you to manipulate the laws of physics. im not particularly bothered about how deep the explanation is, i just want something more than 'it has a big computer'. as for my name, that is irrelevant, and most of the time such things are explained in warhammer usually by virtue of the fact that the laws of physics are more strong suggestion than hard and fast rules in the warp

    Hey nurgle33, yeah, it's unrepentantly, mind-breakingly, criminally massive. But it's also a damn fine piece of engineering. It can alter space-time in a fairly large area by virtue of its immense computational systems, allowing it to be so stupidly huge. This is the culmination of death_silence_66's several years of wonderful shipbuilding and so is much more powerful than it has any right to be.
