    I also do it by hand, but usually thick layered armor for Entropy ships. Ther design makes it easier to draw the armor, but layering requires me to isolate the drawn armor from the rest of the ship, then converting to different kinds of radiation to stick them together and convert them into the real armor. The first ship with that armor (the Repulse) was in fact done by copypasting EACH PIXEL of the alloy. Yeah, I was a real noob.
